The last few days we try to relax as much as possible. Yesterday we had a great, quiet evening at the lake on our camp ground in Houston. Today we drove to Galveston, which is situated on Galveston Island at the Gulf of Mexico, only a one hour drive from our camp ground. In 1900 Galveston was completely destroyed by a hurricane and about 7000 people were killed. Galveston contains many restored Victorian homes. There are 2 beautiful streets, Broadway with a lot of those beautiful Victorian homes and Strand with a lot of beautiful historic buildings and the place where all kind of festivals are held.
